La Croix
de Carbonnieux

A tribute to the Benedictines
Pessac-Léognan

The wines of La Croix de Carbonnieux pay tribute to the Benedictine monks of the Sainte-Croix Abbey of Bordeaux, who owned the estate in the 13th and 18th centuries. Great winemakers, these religious figures gave Carbonnieux an international reputation and a momentum toward modernity. Their emblem, the “S” around the Holy Cross, appears throughout the château grounds and seals on our bottles the mark of their passage in the long history of the estate.

Coming from plot selections of the Carbonnieux classified growth, the white and red wines of La Croix de Carbonnieux are second wines crafted like great growths.

La Croix de Carbonnieux Red displays a beautiful ruby color, a nose of red fruits with that pleasant smoky note on the palate typical of Léognan wines. Slightly less powerful than Carbonnieux, this wine, highly appreciated in gastronomy, can be enjoyed younger and offers a wide range of food pairings.

La Croix de Carbonnieux White has a pale yellow color typical of our grape varieties and a freshness subtly infused with aromas of exotic fruits or grapefruit. These wines benefit from the beautiful minerality characteristic of Carbonnieux and the Pessac-Léognan terroir. La Croix de Carbonnieux White is a wine for epicureans.
